Carrie Johnson supported her husband Boris, as he wore their six-month-old daughter Romy in a baby carrier on his chest, as the Prime Minister (PM) made his resignation statement today.

Boris, 58, has confirmed he will step down as leader of the Conservative Party and plans to stay at No. 10 as caretaker prime minister until October, when a successor takes over.

Carrie, 34, pictured in a red dress, was seen smiling as she stood next to Nadine Dorries as they listened to her husband’s televised address to the nation.

Dorries, secretary of state for digital, culture, media and sport, was seen greeting Romy and speaking to Carrie at the time.

The Johnsons welcomed their second child in December, with a spokesperson for the couple saying at the time: “Both mother and daughter are doing very well. The couple would like to thank the brilliant NHS maternity team for all their care and support.”

This followed the environmental activist’s outing about having a miscarriage earlier in the year.

They also share their two-year-old son Wilfred, who they welcomed in April 2020.

The couple tied the knot during a secretly planned wedding at Westminster Cathedral in May 2021.

Boris also has four children with ex-lawyer wife Marina Wheeler.

He also has a seventh child, Stephanie Macintyre, daughter of Helen Macintyre.

The prime minister did not take an extended period of leave after the birth of Romy as he battled a series of political scandals as well as the spread of the Omicron variant at the time.

Who is Carrie Johnson?

While it is unknown when Carrie first became romantically involved with Boris, the first reports of their relationship were in September 2018. This was around the same time that the (now resigning) Prime Minister and his then-wife Marina Wheeler announced that they were separating. they had separated “some time ago”. ”.

Carrie rose to fame as Johnson’s partner after attending Boris’ Conservative party leadership campaign in June 2019.

Carrie Johnson is not Boris’s first wife, as he was previously married to Wheeler.

Their children’s names from this marriage are Lara Johnson-Wheeler, 29, Milo Arthur Johnson, 27, Cassia Peaches Johnson, 25, and Theodore Apollo Johnson, 23.

Carrie’s children’s full names are Wilfred Lawrie Nicholas Johnson and Romy Iris Charlotte Johnson.

His other daughter, named Stephanie Macintyre, is the oldest child.
