The Glastonbury Festival clean-up operation will now begin following a dramatic closing headline set by Kendrick Lamar.

Over the last five days, Worthy Farm in Somerset has hosted more than 200,000 people and hosted a series of performances for all ages.

Highlights of the festival’s 50th year special include ensembles of historic headlines from Sir Paul McCartney and Billie Eilish, as well as Lamar’s dramatic display for women’s rights.

Meanwhile, Diana Ross had hit after hit when she took the stage for the Sunday Teatime Legends slot.

The soul singer treated the crowd to a selection of classics, including I’m Coming Out, Baby Love, You Can’t Rush Love, Stop! In The Name Of Love and at the end of Chain Reaction pink confetti was thrown from the stage.

Another highlight was Sir Paul’s headlining show on Saturday, where he wowed the crowd with a spectacular set list that included surprise appearances by Bruce Springsteen and Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl.

Taking to the Pyramid Stage, the former Beatle became the festival’s oldest solo headliner, a week after celebrating his 80th birthday.

During his two-plus-hour set, he played a variety of classic songs, including Hey Jude, Blackbird, Live And Let Die, Ob-La-Di, Ob†La†Da and Get Back.

The electrifying spectacle was further amplified when he introduced Grohl onstage to sing I Saw Her Standing There and Band On The Run, marking Grohl’s first public performance since the death of his Foo Fighters bandmate, drummer Taylor Hawkins. .

Springsteen later joined Sir Paul for Glory Days and I Wanna Be Your Man.

As part of the encore, through special technology that could isolate John Lennon’s voice from older recordings, Sir Paul was able to duet The Beatles’ song I’ve Got A Feeling with his former bandmate in the Pyramid Stage.

On Friday, American singer Eilish headlined the Pyramid Stage, becoming the youngest solo star in Glastonbury history.

The festival featured countless other memorable moments, including Greta Thunberg delivering an impassioned speech from the Pyramid Stage calling on society to shoulder its “historical responsibility to put things right” with the global climate crisis.

It also hosted a host of Ukrainian representatives, with the country’s President Volodymyr Zelensky giving a moving speech via video message and the Kalush Orchestra playing their first UK performance since triumphing at Eurovision 2022.

On the way to the festival, many artists and festival goers had to contend with travel chaos as major rail strikes occurred during the event and many flights were delayed or cancelled.

However, these problems did not put everyone off and neither did the infamous Glastonbury rains, as the weather remained relatively dry compared to previous years.
