Johnny Depp has reached a settlement agreement with a crew member who claimed the actor assaulted him on set.
Location manager Greg “Rocky” Brooks sued the pirates of the Caribbean star alleging Depp punched him twice while drunk on set of 2018 crime drama city of lies, co-starring Forest Whitaker.
The Hollywood Reporter revealed that court documents have been filed revealing a settlement has been reached, and the case will be dismissed if Depp, 59, completes unspecified terms by the end of August.

The filing states: “The settlement agreement conditions the dismissal of this matter upon satisfactory performance of specified terms which are not to be met within 45 days of the date of the settlement. An application for dismissal will be filed no later than 5/1/2023.”
The case will be reopened if Depp does not complete the terms on time.
Brooks had claimed that Depp punched him twice in the rib cage after he tried to explain to the actor that they had to stop filming during a late-night shoot in Los Angeles.
Brooks alleged that Depp ‘smelled of alcohol’ during the alleged altercation, and after punching him, challenged him: “I’ll give you $100,000 to punch me in the face right now.”
He says that Depp’s security guards had to stop him, and that three days after the incident, a producer asked him to sign a statement that he would not take legal action.
Brooks claimed that he was fired when he refused to sign.
Depp responded that he “feared for his safety” during the incident and acted in both self-defense and “defense of others”.
He added that he witnessed the film’s director, Brad Furman, also “fear for his safety.”
After filing the claim, city of lies Script supervisor Emma Danoff defended Depp, saying she has proof the incident never happened.
Danoff said in a witness statement that Depp only confronted Brooks after the location manager made racial slurs toward a homeless black woman.
Depp was represented by Camille Vasquez, his lawyer in his trial against his ex-wife Amber Heard.
The actor was victorious against Heard in his recent libel trial after a jury found in his favor. Depp sued Heard for slandering him in an article she wrote in 2018, claiming that she was a survivor of domestic abuse.
Heard, who had countersued Depp in return, was ordered to pay him $10.35 million in damages.

The couple met on the set of the 2011 film. the rum diary. They married in 2015 and Heard filed for divorce in 2016.
