The gates of Worthy Farm have opened and closed once more, as Glastonbury wraps up and festival style 2022 is officially in full swing.
Last Wednesday, the festival’s founder, Michael Eavis, opened the gates for the first time in three years as he returned for his 50the anniversary, having been postponed during the pandemic.
In that half-century, a host of celebrities have helped coin the quintessential British festival-goer look; Ready for the rain with boots and Barbour, offset with a touch of boho chic and a smile.

The supermodel turned heads in 2005 in this metallic jumper, micro shorts and a low-rise belt. She added a wide-collared black jacket, a studded leather bag and a trusty pair of wellies for an effortless cool-girl look.

All hail Alexa Chung in a Barbour.
The classic British countryside wax jacket is a favorite for the city set as they descend on Somerset, so much so that Chung has chosen to collaborate with the brand six times. She was seen sporting one of these designs in 2019, and she polished off the look of hers with relaxed high-waisted denim jeans and cream high-top sneakers.
This year, it was a similar story, as she wore a pleated blue mini dress, plus vintage Barbour and oval black shades.
Sienna Miller and Poppy Delevingne
Sienna Miller is the poster girl for boho chic festival style, and in 2017 she was caught wearing her pajamas with a fur-trimmed afghan coat. look at a walk from the store to the bathroom.
At his side was model Poppy Delevingne, who wore a casual look with leggings, a hoodie, a jean jacket and the ever-reliable black wellies.
They both opted for big black sunglasses, which are an easy way to style a casual look (not to mention hiding evidence of last night’s sins).
For 2022, Miller stuck to a backless look in a brown linen mini dress with a tied-back strap, which cost £49.99 from Mango. She added subtle statement details, with a chunky gold Missoma chain and heeled ankle boots.
Emma Corrin presented a sweet, chic and practical look for the 2019 festival, pairing a floral sleeveless top with a ruffled hemline and forest green high-waisted shorts.
The Crown actress accessorized with Hunter ankle-high wellies and matching fanny pack, allowing for comfort with a hint of country style. This one is good for sunny days after a rainy night, and the ground is getting muddier – just add a sweater for when the temperature drops as the sun goes down.
Cara Delevingne and Suki Waterhouse
In 2016, models Cara Delevingne and Suki Waterhouse strayed from Glasto’s traditional fashion script and decided to team in thick orange hi-vis jackets with blue braided hair extensions. Delevingne opted for comfort in a blue adidas tracksuit underneath, while Waterhouse kept it simple in leggings and a striped knit vest.
Both sensibly decided on the festival of the holy trinity of accessories: black hats, glasses and wellies. After all, British festivals are a long way from Coachella, and it’s more than likely that the heavens will open up and you’ll be met with nothing but a monkey is unfortunate.
